When: 08/28/10 Where: Airsoft Battle Zone - Fairchild, WI Times: 9:30 - 10:15 Chrono and brief 10:15-1:00 First Phase 1:00-2:00 Lunch 2:00-4:30 Second Phase 4:30-5:00 AAR Cost: $5.00 Entry Fee (To help pay for props and host games in the future)
UPDATE: I am offering an alternative entry fee. You will be waived the $5.00 entry fee if you bring along a couple ears of corn to the game. Canned corn will not be accepted. PJ Clarke has been generous enough to supply us with a cooker so if enough corn is brought we will have a nice corn-feed at the end of the game!
Storyline: The year is 2142, and all the world is in shambles. All that could go wrong, has. The offshore drilling spill’s adverse effects on our aquatic life drastically shortened food supplies, polluted water supplies, and cut millions of jobs. A pandemic starting in Estonia has since spread throughout the world, and no cure has been found. Few have been found to be immune to the disease, the rest have died. Increases in locust populations due to restricted pesticide usage has rendered many lands barren. Now, only few remain on the planet. Those who are immune to the disease, and those who took precautions against it. New alliances have formed in this time of crisis. The European Union (EU), which includes the former North America, Europe, South America, and Australia is looking to reinstate hierarchical societies similar to early Europe. The Pan Asian Coalition (PAC), which includes former Asia and Russia, wish to instate a communist society similar to Cold-War Russia. However, neither side can win without the resources to compete. Very few areas of land are even worth spitting on in the world, however, a few set areas located in the US still have usable renewable resources that are critical to survival, and both organizations know it. Some areas contain the materials to make the pandemic’s vaccine. Others contain renewable resources like water and crops. These areas are known as “Heartlands”. Whoever controls the Heartlands, controls the world, and whoever does not is as good as dead. Each team also has a scientist who will be the only one to claim control of a Heartland.
Specific Roles (Post below if you'd like to fill one)
EU Leader: Beck EU Medic 1: PJClarke EU Medic 2: Paws EU Scientist (NOT CHOSEN UNTIL GAME-DAY, DO NOT VOLUNTEER)
PAC Leader: Chance PAC Medic 1: Airsofter777 PAC Medic 2: Josh PAC Scientist (NOT CHOSEN UNTIL GAME-DAY, DO NOT VOLUNTEER)
RESPAWN / MEDIC RULES: If you are hit, you will display your kill rag and sit where you were shot, wait for 30 seconds. Each medic will be assigned an electronic die. The following is how a medic “treats” a wounded person:
Roll the die:
1: Wounded is back up, ready to fight. 2: Wounded must go to re-spawn, but can re-spawn instantly 3: Wounded must go re-spawn, but can re-spawn instantly 4: Wounded must go re-spawn, Respawn time: 30 seconds. 5: Wounded must go re-spawn, Respawn time: 1 minute. 6: Wounded must go re-spawn, Respawn time: 5 minutes. Medic can’t reach you after 30 seconds: Bleed out. You got to re-spawn. Re-spawn time: 30 seconds.
RE-SPAWN TIMES DO NOT BEGIN COUNTING UNTIL THE WOUNDED HAS REACHED THE RE-SPAWN POINT.
Medics may be shot while treating someone. Medics cannot heal themselves, but a medic may heal another medic. Medics will receive all the necessary equipment for playing the role on game-day.
CAPTURE RULES: Only the scientist can carry the marking flags, and only he can plant them. The flags must be placed in the marked area on each base, if another team’s flag is in that area when you are capturing it, remove the flag and place it outside of the area.
BASE PERKS: Each base offers a specific perk for controlling it. Each perk will be disclosed after the end of phase 1.
HEARTLANDS:
Oil Fields (Hezbollah Base) Power Plant (Tower Base) Research Facility (Marine Base) Farmland (Trenches)

Paws, the role is yours.
I think I'm just going to have all of CWC play EU, than that gives me a little leniency to group other teams that wish to stay together on the PAC side. As for myself and Dave (who helped to co-write the scenario), we will just be average infantrymen who don't know any of the games hidden perks ;)
Oh and by the way, I'm just assigning roles to whoever RSVP's, so if you check the standings and don't like the role you're signed up for, lemme know and I'll see if I can change it.
Also, the roster has been updated. ---------- -Jud / Junk- CWC Airsoft Specialists Airsoft Battle Zone

Judkins, I understand you cant hold it. When i asked you to hold that position i was speaking on chance's behalf. But i talked to him and he said to me that he was going to take the leader position. Also that i have been taken off the medic list we do have a replacementt medic witch is a kid named josh he is part of our team. So for medic 2 please put josh's name down. Also i was just wondering but if it is damp and not dry and hot would it be okay if i used some smokes they are ran by a fuse so i wasnt sure. At you B-Day game i was told by jason that it was okay as long as it is kinda wet out so let me know the day of the game please. ---------- The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.” -Sun Tzu

Guys, remember preparation for the heat should start a few days before you intend to go out. Start by hydrating a few days out.
On game day, avoid sweet and acidic drinks and instead drink water and Gatorade/Powerade. Items like items sandwich crackers, granola bars, bananas, apples, and oranges can help you more than candy, cookies, and such.
Be sure to pack water. Some Ohio fields are requiring players bring at least 2 gallons per player - this is an excellent idea. Consider that 2 gallons of water will cost you about $2, or even less if filled from your tap.
Remember heat exhaustion and dehydration can kill, and make you more susceptible to either later on.
Prevent this stuff before it happens!

Thanks for a great game today Jud...and thanks to everyone else for coming out. As always, I had a good time. My friend Henry had a blast, this being his first time out. It sounds like he would definitiely like to play again in the future. CWC, Henry said he was impressed with how we communicated and moved as a team on the field.

Howdy all! Bringing this thread back from the dead in order to just thank Jason and Judy for once again allowing me to host a game out on their property. I'd also like to thank Paul for bringing the cooker to boil our delicious corn on the cob. Also, a special thanks to Tristan (Tracer) for volunteering to referee for the rest of the game. Also, thanks to all who attended!
There were some discrepancies that seemed to bring up some confusion. Some people didn't know which areas were in-play and which ones were not (i.e. the open field and the house) which I thought I had discussed clearly enough but obviously not. I will be sure to bring this up in greater detail in future briefs. There was also some complaints about the respawn points, which I had noticed myself and made a point to change for the second half. However, the only one I really had a problem with was the people complaining about my poor running of the game, and not even to my face. If you have a problem with the way I'm running my game or the way things are playing out, please just come to me and let me know. Without that kind of feedback, I cannot help but repeat the same mistakes. However, one thing I will not tolerate is people complaining simply because their team is losing. If you come to me or if I hear from someone else that it is being said that I'm "cheating" for the other team or that my rules are stacked simply because one team is losing, I will not even humor you with anything more than a "so, you'll be watching from the safezone then?" if you're going to be a sore sport about things, fine, just do it in the safezone and let everyone else have a good time.
The final thing I would like to address is that there was loads of trash left over after the game that were not picked up. It seems no one picked up on the fact that if you don't pick up the trash, we have to. Thank you to Armsdealer, Dave, Ben86, Ginger, and the handful of others that stayed behind to help pick up the garbage. However, to those who did not pick up your trash (and yes, we have a pretty good idea of who you are) you will be directed to Mrs. Armsdealer at the next game you attend for cleaning duty after the game (if she doesn't tear both of your arms off first). If you have any complaints about this, feel free to bring it to Mr. or Mrs. Armsdealer who will kindly tell you to leave :) ---------- -Junk- CWC Airsoft Specialists Airsoft Battle Zone

I fully agree with Judkins on all parts of his post. It's easy to come up with an IDEA for a game, but when it comes to actually writing out the scenario and factoring in all the variables, it becomes much more difficult. Ask anyone who has actually sat down and wrote a successful game. As to the last part of his post. I don't believe we're asking too much of anyone in regard to cleaning up after themselves. After all, it's the sporting thing to do whether you liked the game or not. I would even suggest that we clean up after ourselves when visiting Brian and Deb's, and for that matter, every game we attend anywhere. Now, that being said. The idea has been suggested that whoever is running/sponsoring a game should show up extra early to get the field building cleaned and in order so that Mr. and Mrs. Armsdealer can come in and set up their stuff. I fully concur. It's not that easy for me to work until mid-night then, get up a few hours later to get ready and drive down there to open up and clean natures mess. Don't get me wrong. As Aide-de-Camp that's part of my responsibility. What really angers me is that people come and stand around scratching their balls while work needs to be done. Only very rarely has someone showed-up early and offered to help. Bottom line. It takes team work as an airsoft family to maintain what we have as a facility. ---------- -Paladin- Senior Administrative Aide-de-Camp, AIRSOFT BATTLE ZONE.
