I successfully transplanted all of the parts into my gearbox with out too much trouble. Upon closing the gearbox, I noticed that the red wire was slightly torn in one area. I wrapped it in electic tape and put the gearbox back in the gun. When I test fired the gun, not only did the safety refuse to work, but the gun shot sparks out! After watching sparks fly around the counter top I quickly dissconnected the battery and abandoned my long repair job. I now have a $300+ paper weight. :(
Thanks to Armsdealer and all those who assisted me through trying to repair my gun. Your help and advice was greatly appreciated. I just don't know where it all went wrong. Any advice from here on out? Else, I might have to try my luck at (gast!) paintball.

Try a new gun.

Bye the way, I envy you. I haven't even reached that level of PHAIL yet lol. How do you get sparks to shoot out....hmmm....
