In a wheat field far far away. "Last Stand in the Badlands" A Well Regulated Militia Series Event July 4th,2010 Location: Wall, South Dakota
With the escalating war in the Middle East, the United States has now redeployed over three quarters of its total military force back into Afghanistan and Iraq. The rest are at skeleton crew levels throughout the world. This came to be due to Iran invading both Afghanistan and Iraq after the United States troop with drawl during the end of 2008. Iran has gone for a power grab as expected, but a lot earlier than anticipated. Pakistan has also aligned itself with Iran after Muslim Extremist came to power in 2009. This has left our forces in need of many reinforcements and supplies that have now overtaxed our homeland.
This is not the moral of the story? In the fall of 2009 Canada also took a surprise twist and voted in an ultra left wing government. The majority of them are Muslim sympathizers. Many theories claim it was due to its open door immigration policy allowing a large middle eastern populous to become establish in the Manitoba region, thus creating a large dominate voting party.
Within weeks of Canada’s newly elected government taking power, a military operation was planned to invade the heartland of the United States taking control of the North Dakota oil fields on its way to over run NORAD in Colorado.
The thought was it would break the back of the United States forcing them to surrender to Iran in the Middle East. With a U.S. surrender, Iran would go unchecked and within weeks control the vast Middle East oil wealth. And with the North Dakota oil fields now under control of an Iranian ally, The U.S. will cease to exist as the great nation it once was. Slavery would be inevitable for the U.S. if this plan succeeds!
In the opening days of the US invasion, the Canadian Revolutionary Guard (CRG) invaded North Dakota and became bogged down by a freak summer snowstorm in July. Al Gore from his home in Switzerland has blamed this storm on the current Ethanol Emissions. The CRG was delayed a week but is now closing in on Wall, South Dakota. From here they will follow the Rocky Mountains South right to NORAD. With a major assault and capture of NORAD, the U.S. will be blind and will have lost several key nuclear launch sites along the way. Surrender will be inevitable for the US.
There is one thing the Axis of Evil did not count on, a well regulated militia. In the week of delay, the local ham radio operators have kept the CRG Positions posted to all the radically classified survivalist groups in the midwest. Such as The Freeman, The Minutemen, The Christian Patriots Defense League, and the NRA. These are your pickup truck, gun rack, bible banging, NASCAR watchin, country boy can survive type people that are leading the charge. These forces are now banding together in the South Dakota Badlands preparing to stop or slow down the Canadian advance until more help can arrive, What help? They are on their own. Will you answer the call to arms as was done in our nations past? Or will you succumb to slavery under a foreign flag?
Game Date : August 24th, 2008 Place: Action Packed Paintball in Waterloo, WI Time: 8:00 am registration opens-9:00 am orientation, 10:00am is game on. Game Play is 3 - 1.5 hr phases with a lunch break End time 3 pm or later.
• Teams: CRG (Canadian Republican Guard)
• US Militia: Freeman, NRA, Christian Patriots Defense League (CPDL), Local Police Force.
Uniforms- Canadian Revolutionary Guard The CRG is an organized military unit so dress the part. Matching Green BDU set. This means you must have a top and bottom of a matching pattern of any green military print. This means mossy oak and duck hunt type patterns will not be allowed for the CRG. A full set of web gear is preferred but is not required. Unlimited ammo for the CRG. The CRG is an organized military unit so dress the part. High cap mags are ok. Box mags are for SAWS and the like guns only. The box mag police will be on patrol!
US Militia Blue jeans, Bib Overalls, Car Harts, Jean jackets, cowboy hats, flannel shirts or dress shirts with the sleeves cut off, baseball hats with preferably a tractor logo, corn seed logo, or an Indian Casino name on it or something close to that. A camo shirt may be worn as long as it is of a hunting pattern (Mossey oak, real tree, duck hunt patterns, or cheap Wal-Mart knockoff patterns) Military BDU shirts can be worn as long as the sleeves are cut off giving you the ultimate redneck look. A dress shirt or flannel shirt with cut off sleeves, jeans, a dinner plate belt buckle, cowboy boots and the tractor hat of your choice would make the best uniform. Any dead animal hats would be great to see also. Pants must be a solid color non camoflage.
Local Police Force. If you can come up with a Barney Fife type outfit that gives you the cop edge and attitude please do. The cops numbers will be limited and will play some of the commanding roles due to they are the last real paramilitary organization left to help restore order in the U.S. One whole unit could be a SWAT team if somebody puts one together?
U.S. Weapons What ya got? The U.S. will be under some restrictions for the first phase only. This is not required but Shotguns, bolt actions, and pistols would be great for the starting phase. But after that it’s even up. Run what ya brung!
Closing General field rules will be followed as listed on the web site. Specialty rules will be posted later as we secure tanks and other added attractions. Things like if we get a manure spreader as a prop, you cannot use it as a landing craft! And, if your job is to collect loose sheep, where do you go with them? Some pyrotechnics but not the ones that will make you change your shorts when they are touched off. Yes, this is a light hearted game that should give you plenty to shoot at and smile about. Door prizes are being planned but no list as of yet. I want to get this date of August 24th out there so people can plan for it. Prices and registration information will be up on the web site in the next week or so.
Wow. Sounds like an interesting game. :) I Like the sounds of it, especially since I grew up as a redneck farmer. I will put this on my calender and hopefully I can make it. ---------- ________________ A Jarhead once said "You can run, but you will only die tired" __________________________________________

If anyone needs a ride we will be attending this event and have room for two passengers. Airsoft Battle Zone will be providing rental and retail guns onsite at this event...See you there ---------- "Airsoft" Come share the welts!
Prices for this event. If you want to spend the whole weekend at Action Packed Paintball with free camping, the price will be $35. That will let you play both days and get you into the scenario game on Sunday. If you just want to play on Sunday for the scenario, it will be $20.
If you are planning on coming to this scenario and would like to play a specialty role. I have some open. Tech's and Snipers. Snipers will need to have the equipment that goes with it. Military grade rifle, semi or bolt action only. Thats if the FPS is over 400 and under 475. If none sign up we can lighten the restrictions. Tech's. You are wondering what is a Tech? They can set and disarm any mock explosive in the game. Such as timed charges or Nukes. They can also repair any vehicle or structure in the game. They will be needed if you plan on capturing the tank.
It has just been reported by the Canadian authorities that one of thier local museums was broken into tonight. The item that was stolen was on display at the local Sinclair gas station just outside of Calgary. Stolen was the legendary Wayne Greatski hockey stick that he scored his 894th goal to be the all time leader over Gordie How. This is a sad day in Canada. Some in parliment are saying this could casue an international incident? The stick was last seen in a gun rack of a North Dakota pickup truck heading south back the United States? The driver of the truck was seen throwing spiked metal out of his window to avoid authorities. It has since been reported the metal had been Olympia beer cans? Will we ever get back one of our national treasures? The military has been placed on ready should we decide to pursue this matter. The border has also been sealed in my last received report.
Thank you Piere St Clair channel 82 news
Disclaimer "Yes this means the Canadians will be in search of a hockey stick at some point, while all the rednecks are looking for their prom dates"
On their way. They are done in the Microsoft paint program or what ever else you can get them to open up in. If you have no luck, I will have more copies at the field. This week I will start a roster on the board to save us time dividing sides Sunday morning.
Sorry Beegs, can't make it. I'm on a strict no spending limit, so I can't cover the admission fee. Again, sorry. ---------- Bishop "Y'know what they say, 'If it ain't broken, let me at it!'" Stephen Colbert www.freewebs.com/frctairsoft

Beegs, I will give you guys a ring a few days before the event to make final plans. Judy would like to know if there is power available? ABZ will also be providing some donations for this event. ---------- "Airsoft" Come share the welts!
Hello Yes, there is power to hook into. If you have a 50 foot extension cord or maybe longer, you can tie into the buildings power. You will only be about 20 feet from the front door, but we will have to run the cord around to the back so people are not tripping over it at the front door. They have water in coolers but no running water. 2 port o johns also. Two upright coolers with cold soda and sports drinks and a snack rack. Its a gravel sand mix for parking lot so not very much mud if it rains. If you have some type of canopie for sun shade bring it. That corner has no shade but you can watch the people coming and going on all fields and the front door from there. It's a good vendor spot. The picnic area is shaded.

I have never been to a game with ABZ before since it is about a four hour drive from my house but i was wondering if there was a waiver we had to fill out or something like that to be able to get in if we r under 18
Hi Yes you can. Got to Action Packed Paintball's web site (appaintball.com) and download the waivers and get them filled out and noterized. Double check the age limits and the rules for goggles. Under 18 must use full face paintball type mask. Yea, I know. It's not my first choice for eye wear but insurance dictates.
Clip from the web site:
Age Restrictions
12 and 13 year olds wishing to play must play with a parent or guardian. 12 to 17 year old players must have one of our consent forms signed by a parent or guardian and notarized or accompanied by a parent or guardian at the field. A picture ID or drivers license will be required from all players
Hey, Jason n' Judy, do you think I should bring my guitar? I can keep it quiet if you don't want to ruin the atmosphere or something. After all I pretty much only know metal crap.
Also if it's okay with BEEGS, and maybe the field owner guys. ---------- Is my gun here yet?

Biscuit are you riding down with us? Guitar is ok with me and we should have the room... if Beegs and greg do not mind. ---------- "Airsoft" Come share the welts!
Bring your guitar. We are far enough away from everybody it won't be a problem. As long as you don't set up a wall of speakers and pre amps to feed it all. I don't think the power grid could take it. And if it gets to load we will just cut the power and make you play acousitcal. Can you play the spoons or a wash board if need be?
Beegs.
I think this is the first time I have everything done before the night before the game. I can relax a bit.

Nope, sorry. Insurance dictates that you wear full seal goggles. If you are under 18 you need to wear a paint ball type mask with full seal. Saftey glasses feel good and are nice to shoot with, but you can't use them here.
I purchased a set of mesh up at ABZ during Freefall and loved them. But thats the only place I can use them. There will be masks to rent if you need them.
I know most of the ABZ team will be militia. But some of the other players who aren't sure what team that they want to play on, should bring an extra uniform in case we need to switch you to the CRG team or vise versa. Come with a green bdu set and a flannel shirt to make it easy. You will be set to play either team.

Hello George Consider yourself on the Militia. Find me Sunday morning at the team sign up table. I will be outside between 8-8:50 splitting teams. If you bring the two Bush daughters with, I would be forever in your dept. The one is married but that has to be getting old by now? I can also be bribed with dough nuts too.

Big thanks to Jim, Greg and (Mike?) for hosting this game and letting us all exercise our pistons on your field. I thought the scenarios were well thought out and made for some great trigger time. The referee staff was great and "everywhere" plus the field was nicely laid out and shifting between field areas for each phase of the game really changed up the scenarios nicely. Looking forward to the next airsoft game at the action packed paintball field. ---------- "Airsoft" Come share the welts!
I had a great time peddling my wares and scamming innocent victims:)
Sounded like the players had a lot of fun.
Anyways, Jason, the distributor guy (no offense, I'm horrible with names. It took me at least a month to learn Jason and Judy's) still has my crane stock battery. Next time you see him, could you ask if I could get that back? Or he could just give it to you to hold onto until the next time I see you.
I'm sorry I couldn't make it out, even just to say 'Hi.' I really did plan to.
Sorry, Beegs, but there were "complications" in my moving process. In fact, I may have to go to the hospital and have both my foot and back looked at. Damn... so much pain... so sore. :(

Thanks to all who attended. It made it a great day. The count was 52 players. And with the CRG on the move it was pretty much a non stop fire fight. It wasn't easy going for them either. I am still trying to mentally regroup my marbles from what all went down Sunday. The 3 best acts or herosim as seen from my eyes were:
1)One of the Badger airsoft players on the Militia side came sprinting out of the fort with a satchel charge in one hand and a pistol in the other under a hail of gunfire. He ran up to the tank shot the tech behind it and hit the tank with the sacthel charge. Tank dead, tech dead and then as he was running back to the fort he was finally hit. That stopped the CRG advance for a short time until the regrouped and healed(it was visions of Audie Murphy!)
2) The CRG was faced with one last road block before the tank could roll up to the fort. And again, under a hail of gun fire. One brave soul ran up the trail and dove for the road block(wolf recon member). He grabbed it and removed it from the road and then he was hit. The tank driver gunned the gas and headed forward. Only to find out the road had been mined also! Boom! Tank dead again.
The refs were paying so much attention to make sure the hits were called during the last major exchange of gunfire, we failed to notice one item. When the tank was destroyed twice on that road, What was inside of it? The Moonshine! Those two gallons of ever clear saved a lot of CRG players. When the tank died, the moonshine should have cooked the whole inside in a pretty blue alcohol fire. The moonshine was technically destroyed then. Hmmmmm? Oh well, it was a great firefight though. I missed that one.
#3) The next act of heroism has to go to the Militia sniper that stopped the whole CRG infantry column for 20 minutes below the first POW tower. It took them a long time to figure why the kill rags we coming out like a klenex in the cold/flue season. He stayed in position until finally hit. Excellent job award goes out to him! Don't know his name but I did talk to him a while after about the CQB.
Rules and things on the block to be revised for next year. 1) More SHEEP. There will be double the number next year. And they will bet spaced long ways on the field and not acrossed it like I had done. 2) CQB will go under the micro scope revision with player input on it. The forts were fun, but we need to tighten the rules up on them. The front hallways will be marked in sections for grenade use. That way the defending unit can toss grenades out from the center into the halls to help defend. I liked the grenades and they worked well. Especially when 4 to 5 guys were piled in one area. And we will have each fort circled with a visible line. Once your inside of that line its CQB and proper fps and weapon will be required. It was still a good time even after I got drilled in the knees from outside the fort through a window. Once I make the changes I will post them for comment.
Thanks again to all the players and vendors with donated items for the rafel. It started in the craper Saturday morning for me, but by Sunday mid afternoon I was having fun. I hope you all had a good time.
Jimbe
I will post a 3 faze action report later. We will also have Youtube video in the near future.

I'll put down $10 on betting that was Korpil (Trevor). Sounds like something that crazay bastage would do. :) And if you're reading this, Trevor, I mean that with utmost humor and respect. ;)
Hey Beegs, Just wanted to post and tell you thanks. Was a well run game, with overall good rules and great refs.
I especially liked the medic rules. medics just can't always save everyone and that gave it a pretty good twist. With the luck of the draw.
Enjoyed the field as well. looking forward to another chance to come out there. ---------- ________________ "You can run, but you will only die tired" __________________________________________ So there I was, knee deep in bodies........
Sorry for flakin' out, my buddy had emergency surgery done, so I spent all Saturday and Sunday morning at the hospital. Looks like it was a good one, I'll have to catch the next game in Waterloo.
Nice photos, almost like being there, !!!!NOT!!!. If I had been there, I think I would have been laughing my head off. Ryan looks like Snidely Wiplash from the Bulwinkle Show.
Maybe Ryan would consider wearing the mustache more often. Also, maybe Hans would consider wearing one with his pipe, while in his Multicam... ----------

OK got a quick video of the last stand in the badlands game on august 24th put together...Enjoy
I must agree with everyone. That game was amazing. I am sure that the guys from CWC that played the last scenario will agree that it was a real adrenaline rush. By the way Mrs. Armsdealer, I like the pic of Armsdealer and myself, it is one to hang on the wall.
