The term means Automatic Electric Gun and the guns are fully automatic, airsoft 6mm or 8MM plastic or bio degradeable BB shooting, 1 to 1 full scale replica's of real firearms. These full auto airsoft guns use a battery operated motor to drive a gearbox that creates a rate of fire in excess of 850 rounds a minute or higher. Both plastic and  metal gearbox models are available but the metal gearbox and full metal guns are preffered by airsoft gamers as they can be upgraded to shoot longer distances more accurately. Most metal gear box AEG's can easily be repaired with parts that are both affordable and available in the USA. Most high end airsoft electric gun manufacturers guns come out of the box shooting about 300-350 Foot Per Second
